Disneyland

Today we spent the day at Disneyland with my parents for my dad's birthday. Of course Lacy wanted to visit Cinderella's castle for the millionth time. Of course, we obliged.

Along the way an unfortunate cast member was placed in our path with the sole purpose of sprinkling "fairy dust" on the heads of the children as they walked by. Lacy got in line to receive her blessing. After the sacrament of glitter was taken, Lacy assumed she would be able to fly. Quickly she realized that flying was not going to happen and she started to complain that the fairy dust didn't work and she couldn't fly.
On our way out of the castle, Lacy returned to the cast member (walking in front of the other children in line) and announced to the cast member that, "your fairy dust is broken, it doesn't work... I can't fly". As the confused cast member sprinkled Lacy with additional fairy dust, Lacy began to flap her arms up and down. With a dirty look to the lady, Lacy walked away... but not after announcing to the crowd that, "fairy dust doesn't work, it's busted."

Everybody is Growing...

I can't seem to make it stop... everybody is growing! Murdock is HUGE... Lacy is blowing through her clothes faster than we can buy her new ones. (You can only imagine my glee when Grams showed up with a bag or twelve full of new summer clothes for Lacy! Thanks a million Grams! We sure needed them!)

Easter

My awesome husband came home from a long night of work and gave Lacy a phenomenal Easter. He quickly ran outside and hid over a dozen eggs for Lacy to find. At the time I wasn't too impressed with the idea, I didn't think Lacy would really get into it. Of course, she did! Lacy was all about hunting those eggs down. Murdock even helped out!

Senor Snake

The tree outside our front door has grown so large that it now rubs against the roof making a terribly annoying screeching noise as it slides along the rain gutter up there. Lacy heard this noise yesterday and promptly ran outside to investigate.

She ran back in frantically telling me there was a snake in the tree and it was trying to speak to her.

This was certainly within the realm of Lacy's pretend world, but I wanted to make sure the snake was definitely imaginary so I followed Lacy out to the front yard.

I silently watched as the following drama unfolded:

L: "Okay snake, I hear you. Speak to me."

SCREEEEECH.

L: "I can't understand what you are saying! Speeeeeak to meeee"

SCREEEEECH.

L: "Ooohhh... I think I understand... you don't speak English, you speak Spanish!"

At that point Lacy proceeded to holler her version of Spanish at the imaginary snake... of course the neighbors were there to witness my personal insanity as well.

Just another time I wished Lacy had her own personal camera crew following her around!

Leetoh the Dog

This morning around 6:20 Lacy was already up and chatting in her room with her imaginary friends. Since I was already up and getting my day started, I decided to let her off the vent. I walked into her room to find this:

L: "oooohhh... this is awkward... um, Mom, this is my friend Leetoh. He's a dog. A superhero dog. And, well, we were just discussing business."
