Court Dates and Blankets!

We had another meeting in our home with the SB county dept of children's services. It went surprisingly well. Randy and I were very nervous, not knowing what to expect. We simply didn't know what to expect, so to be on the safe side we just made sure EVERYTHING was perfect. We even reorganized the closets, cupboards and refrigerator. As to be expected, they didn't look in any of those places! The worker asked us if we needed anything or if she could answer any questions, and so I took the opportunity to tell her that we were very nervous that this was going to turn upside down on us and some family member was going to come forward to take Lacy from us. She told us that BY LAW once Lacy has been in our home for six months we have a legal right to her, and anyone other than her mother would have to take us to court and prove us unfit to parent her! Birth mom's court date is January 15th, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. This is the BIG one where she will lose any and all rights to Lacy FOREVER!!!

After the county worker left, I decided to work on a Christmas blanket for Lacy. I think it turned out pretty well! I think Lacy does too!

AH! so scary. omg, i hope she bails on this court date like she has on most everything else... honestly, if she really had lacy's best interest in mind, she would bail.

NICE BLANKET! looks cozy.

as for the apron:
i would just cut out an apron following a pattern OR using a child's apron that you have laying around as a guideline and assemble accordingly.

it looks like you could simply add white fabric at the top and a belt near the waist by either sewing it on or even using a fabric glue to make it even quicker. if you bought a solid color pre-made arpon, you could just add the embellishments after the fact if you're short on time. oh, and, whatever you do, dont let randy adjust your sewing machine or the speed at which the glue flows. that could be disasterous!!!
